Work Description

Chemists study atomic and molecular structures and their interactions with the world around them. Some of their duties include preparing reagents for lab use, conducting research, analyzing compounds to determine chemical composition , and instructing other scientists.

They play a key role in creating sustainable solutions in environmental science, atmospheric science, and engineering but are also crucial for pharmaceutical manufacturing and development. Since there is such a diverse need for chemists, it is an essential role to fill.

Salary Range

$75,000 - $100,000

Education

Entry-level jobs require a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related STEM field with a focus in chemistry. Higher level jobs, including research, typically require a master’s degree or PhD.
