Mapping Our World and DISCOVER-AQ
Understanding the ground level conditions influencing air quality is the primary goal of NASA’s DISCOVER-AQ mission, a four-year campaign that makes targeted airborne and ground-based observations to improve the use of satellites to diagnose near-surface air quality. This information is important because satellites have difficulty in distinguishing between pollution aloft and at the surface where humans and ecosystems are exposed to poor air quality.
