Here at NASA Langley, team members are working hard to make S’COOL and MY NASA DATA helpful for you. Today we would like to introduce you to a team member that we couldn’t do it without – Lin Chambers!
Lin is a research scientist at NASA Langley who has a passion for atmospheric science and education, which inspired her to create the S’COOL and MY NASA DATA programs. Her educational background is actually in engineering (aeronautical and aerospace engineering), and then got involved with education soon after college.
In addition to being the SCOOL and MND team lead, Lin is also the project scientist for the NASA Global Climate Change Education (GCCE) project, which focuses on improving global climate change and Earth science education at the elementary, secondary and undergraduate levels. In addition, Lin serves as a NASA scientist for GLOBE, a program that provides hands-on science and education programs.
Lin is excited that S’COOL just met its 14-year mark, and that MY NASA DATA just released another new set of data relating to solar energy. She enjoys having a great team of educators, scientists, and IT personnel who all get along and work well together to develop programs, materials and resources that extend the NASA experience to students – what more could you want?
When Lin isn’t at work supporting science education initiatives, she enjoys playing volleyball and spending time with her family. She also serves on the PTA in her local city.
